Continuing Education
Salespeople and Brokers, to renew their Real Estate License must complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education courses within the two years prior to the renewal of their license.
A topic on Fair Housing or Discrimination in the sale or rental of real property must consist of at least
(3) Hrs. of the 22.5 Hrs.
Those that are exempt from taking continuing education courses:
* Attorneys who hold a license and are admitted to the NYS bar
* Brokers with more than 15 years of consecutive licensure before July 1, 2008 and who are
actively engaged in the estate business. Any broker who allows his or her license to expire,
is no longer exempt
